In Search of Truth

Psychoanalytic treatment is a search by means of a sincere confession. The form it takes is that of a kind of teaching process provided by a genuine master: once the task is completed the difference between both participants will have diminished to the point of disappearing; they are now equals –or the disciple may even have outstripped his master, who has passed on to him everything he knew. In consequence, the person who came in search for help no longer needs help, he can go away and fend for himself, he has found himself, is strong and has within him his own lamp to light his way.

He has “lost weight”, reducing the burden that was impeding his progress. He now travels lighter; he has become one of those healthy people who march at a good pace, walk happy and confident, with no reason to delay.
